Physical Therapy
What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy involves a broad range of conservative treatments with two primary goals: to get you back to doing what you “used to be able to do,” and to do it without hurting. While most people rightly associate PT with exercises and stretching after an injury, we offer much more than being a personal trainer.
The “injuries” can range from a broken leg to strokes to incontinence. Problems people associate with “old age,” such as joint pain, balance problems and weakness, are usually injuries that occur over time, and most are treatable. Although many of the treatments do include exercise, we also use massage, ultrasound, electric currents, and a variety of other techniques to help with healing and get rid of pain.
How do I sign up?
If you think you might need or benefit from PT, ask your doctor. If he/she agrees, they can write you an order for therapy. Just like x-rays and medication, you need a doctor’s order for therapy. Then, simple call us at 812-276-1282 to make an appointment.
